Whatamidoing is an experiment i did where i tried to run a drum machine through a multiosc synth, switching presets on the synth to change the sound. While it offered me brief entertainment, there's not much i have done with these sounds. Perhaps they will serve you better than i.

The sound of the bottom of a ceramic mug, dragged over the metal grating of a coffee machine. It sounds like a sword drawn from a scabbard. Recorded using a zoom h6 in the kitchen. Applied a filter to remove unwanted low and very high frequencies. Also corrected the volume level to adjust all four recordings to the exact same level. There are some minor distracting noises - i assume from my shirt while moving the mug over the surface. Also a fan is very faintly audible in the background. If you are interested in a very clean recording of this sound, please let me know.

This is a 4 mic recording taken inside a pachinko parlor in akasaka, tokyo. There are so many loud machines and the background music is so loud that you can hardly make out individual sounds and the entire space is just a wash of noise. If you listen closely to this one you can hear some of the individual balls dropping. (when you play pachinko, you win metal balls which can be exchanged for cash later. ).

Side b from a microcassette i found in an old answering machine on 04/08/2017. A few more tones and test recordings followed by a long conversation between two women that takes up the majority of the runtime. I left in a little blank space for noise reduction purposes should anyone need to do so. ". . . You can't spend your life being unhappy, it. . . It just doesn't work. . . After many years of 'lurking' on this website and downloading and using sounds for my projects, i am happy to hopefully contribute something useful to this site. I am not a professional audio tech or anything related, but i do own a zoom h5 recorder and had to make some recordings for one of my multimedia projects. Dark growling drone sound i made on a my behringer model d analog synthesizer, recorded with effects in ableton live. Some processing was done later in adobe audition to finalize it.

I made a tonal quantussy recording. The bass always plays a low c. The 5 tracks are selected from one 15 min long recording. The synth creates defined tracks with different character.

Hello,. This is the sample pack that i completed for the sound design course at slam academy. The theme of this pack is sounds that could be used to make melancholy and dark sounding music, but use however you see fit. I used ableton’s operator and analog synthesizers and xfer’s serum plugin to create this sounds. All processing was used using ableton’s stock effects and serum’s stock effects. This is the sound of my computer idling (while recording in audacity, but that should make no difference) recorded using an old aiwa stereo microphone, which performs quite well. Don't worry, my computer is not this loud in real life, it's just normalized audio.

Field recording of a large truck being used to transport some kind of utility maintenance equipment. I couldn't begin to tell you what kind of equipment, but i can overprocess the sound it makes, so i did. Sounds a bit more industrial and imposing now.

Something went wrong on a mechanical device on top of the building that faces my balcony. I don't know what it is exactly (some fan. . . ) but the noise it produces is pretty theatrical.
